VLOG #3 - Parking the Camper and Moving Logs to the Sawmill Area

We bought a camper a couple of weeks ago from friends of ours.  It is a 29 foot Sunset Creek with one bump out and an electrically deployed awning.  Overall is appears to be a very nice little camper and so far, we have been very pleased with it.  We have not done any camping with it yet (and it may be a while with the restrictions placed on society due to Covid-19), but we have been able to use it as a home base on the property.  We really bought the camper as a place for us to utilize while we are working on site to eat, cook, and let the kiddos nap.

We do not have any utilities onsite yet, so the camper is just a place to get away from the bugs, eat a meal, or get out of the weather.  We will be purchasing a generator that will function primarily as an electricity source for the camper but will be used for power tools and such during the house build.  We are looking into a 3000-watt generator to power the 13,500 BTU Air Conditioning unit in the camper and the likely candidate is the Honda EU3000iS.  Although, I have been looking at some of the 4000-watt generators that Honda offers that are not as quiet, but offer a little more versatility with battery charging, 110v/240v, and clean power options.  If you have suggestions or experience with these units, please share them with us in the comments section.

Before we could bring the camper to the property and park it we had to clear a few trees.  We ended up with some rather nice black cherry logs in the 15 inch diameter range and a handful of sugar (hard) maple trees that we will be able to use for timbers in the house.  This weeks VLOG focuses on the tree cutting along with a little discussion of our plans and what is next.

In this episode we bought a camper and needed to clear a spot to park it.

Please enjoy the video and let us know what you think or if you have any questions.  We will be happy to answer them
